AIB commission Frontend to assess the current accessibility status of their online banking application. 24hour-online is AIB's very successful personal web banking application. Frontend were asked to conduct a thorough accessibility evaluation and report back with a comprehensive plan to progressively improve accessibility in series of stages.
Practical emphasis
Frontend consultants examined each page in detail and listed both compliance and practical accessibility issues. The site was also checked for compatibility with a range of assistive technologies and alternative browser technologies.
Resolution focussed
Frontend turned the issues from the evaluation into concrete recommendations that could be completed on a phased basis in future releases of the application.
Future proof
One of the only certainties in IT development is that requirements change over time. The Frontend approach always takes possible future requirements into account by recommending techniques and solutions that provide maximum flexibility going forward.
