Website Evaluation and User Testing - Unilever

View Images

One of the main aims of the Unilever corporate website was to create a perception that Unilever was committed to high social standards and integrating with societies throughout the world. It also needed to provide key corporate information to a number of target audiences. Unilever decided to experiment with different interaction models to diffuse the image of a huge multi-national corporation and create an alternative and explorative means of interacting with the site. This was intended to create a more enjoyable experience and, in turn, create a positive impression of the Un1ilever brand.

Frontend were commissioned to conduct a User Experience Review of the Unilever Website to ensure that it was achieving its key business objectives. The exercise included comprehensive Expert Evaluation and target audience testing. The approach was holistic including usability as part of broader examination of the users perception and use of the website. It also focused on the messages users pick up from the website when allowed to browse freely. Findings from the evaluation provided Unilever with valuable insight into how successful the site was in accommodating key target audiences. Fundamental problems were identified, recommendations provided and the site redesigned.
