Frontend were commissioned by Fáilte Ireland to redefine and redesign their business tourism website. The site is critical in the promotion of Ireland as a world-class destination for Business Tourism across the association conference, incentive and corporate meetings sectors. Business tourism is an area of great strategic importance with high yields and strong growth potential. The site is operated in partnership with the key overseas Tourism Ireland Markets. The ProblemThe existing site, irelandinspires.com failed in several key areas. Site searching and search optimisation was poor, key messages were not clearly communicated and the structure didn’t allow content to be tailored for specific audiences. Fáilte Ireland also wished to improve integration between their existing systems by migrating the site to a common CMS platform, Kentico. The ProcessFrontend engaged in a detailed process of strategic planning, scoping, analysis of existing systems, stakeholder requirements and user research in order to deliver a holistic solution that satisfied Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland's business objectives while most importantly, enhancing the online experience for its users. The ResultThe result was a much improved site, renamed Meet in Ireland.com. It provides improved search functionality, mapping, communication, supports and usability Three separate sites (illustrated below) were developed to meet the needs of distinct target user profiles. Content and functionality were shared across the site but tailored to specific profile needs. Landing pages and translated sub-sites were also developed for specific geographical domains allowing content and functionality to be targeted and tailored for different countries. |
