First4Farming (F4F) was founded with the goal of helping U.K. Agriculture become more competitive by providing a platform for farmers and agricultural businesses of all sizes to conduct business electronically. Frontend was a member of the Progress Software led consortium chosen to develop this platform.

The First4Farming platform includes a portal for U.K. Agriculture, corporate websites, B2B and B2C commerce sites for F4F Member companies, an XML based document exchange (eHub) with adaptor based back-office system integration and WebSupplier an online document exchange product for smaller companies without an integrated back-office system.
Frontend designed and developed the First4Farming (F4F), U.K. Agricultural Industry Portal and a number of standard website and ecommerce products that expand the reach and functionality of the First4Farming platform.

This multi-site, multi-product platform is built on ATG Dynamo (Java Application Server Suite) and includes advanced personalisation and web based content management. It also integrates directly with F4F Partner Company Back Office Systems through the F4F eHUB to allow the secure and guaranteed exchange of business documents (Quotations, Orders, Confirmations, Despatch Notes and Invoices) in XML.
