Note: Frontend website content is accessible to all versions of every browser. If your browser does not support basic W3C web standards, it will prevent the display of the site design layout. This is why the page you are now viewing is diaplayed without formatting. To find out more please visit the Web Standards Project and read about the campaign encouraging users to upgrade their browsers to standards compliant versions.
Frontend were commissioned to help the IDA develop key accessible web design skills in house. The project was divided into three stages. Firstly, three Frontend consultants specialising in software engineering, web design and accessibility evaluated the existing IDA Ireland web site and generated a report detailing the current accessibility status of the organisation web presence. Secondly, the issues that were encountered in the evaluation were developed into a series of focussed accessibility training sessions specifically dealing with the accessibility requirements of the IDA. Thirdly a set of additional accessibility guidelines were drawn up to ensure that future web development work from third party suppliers complies both with both the WAI guidelines and IDA Irelands own internal standards.
Frontend also developed a range of accessible document templates for the IDA designed to make the task of publishing accessible versions of print documents on the web straightforward.
