Optimising B2B eCommerce for The Fruit People

Creating a new system architecture & improved customer experience for a complex B2B eCommerce need

The Fruit People (TFP) are a leading supplier of fruit and healthy snacks directly to companies across Ireland. Providing 250,000 pieces of fruit a week to over 1,000 businesses of varying sizes, from SMEs to large corporations.

Their existing order management system was built on 3rd party software that had significant UX and performance issues. TFP needed a new system that improved customer experience, reduced the call volume & manual CSR interventions, integrated with existing accounts & delivery systems and addressed the unique needs of their specific business model.

Frontend partnered with Redstrand to explore the market and provide TFP with a strategy that leveraged existing ‘off-the-shelf’ platforms, while minimising the need for bespoke application development and support. Once a system architecture was in place, we designed and built a new management ecosystem that included:

  • Consumer Website – Increasing customer acquisition & better UX, coupled with a fresh look and feel.
  • Customer Account Management – allowing customers to easily manage regular orders on an ongoing basis.
  • Back Office Management – for TFP to manage orders.
  • Systems Integration & Custom Development – providing a new ecosystem that is expandable and extensible.
